I have a lot of wonderful days. However, there are some days where I am "off". I'm not particularly happy, and I'm not completely sad (although, usually by the end of the day, I'm a little depressed). I don't know what causes it, and I don't know how to made it go away. It can happen for a few minutes, or a few days. (Sometimes, even a week.)
Here are a few of the clues that I'm having an off day:
I'm REALLY hypersensitive to everything.
I'm not making conversation as well as I usually do.
I am easily annoyed.
I'm spending a lot of time alone.
I don't do things very well.
I'm easily overwhelmed.
The truth is, when I'm having an off day, it may SEEM like I don't want to do anything, but I DO want to take part in specific activities. If I take part in something, it's probably an attempt to make contact with the world again, and get me out of this funk. And it's really hard when people don't respond to that attempt. (And I mean REALLY respond.)
I don't want it to sound like it's everyone else's fault. What I'm trying to say is: something is making me feel "off" and that's what others can do to help. I just need an extra boost of "hey, we miss you and are thinking of you".
