Check Out The New Tab!

At the top of the page, there is a new tab of "Newspaper".  PLEASE check it out.  Clicking on it will bring you to the page where I list all of the links from the Daily Local News articles about Autism, and the Facebook page where you can also check them out.  There are GREAT stories here.  Inspiring ones.  And they just go to show how large and different the Autism Community really is.  Please share these stories!  We worked really hard to get them all together.

And I want to mention that the purpose of me being a part of this autism project with this newspaper wasn't for ONLY ME to get my story out.  I purposely asked that other people from the community were to be included.  I'm NOT the only one out there with a form of Autism.  And these are not the only people either.

Research about autism will never end.  There will always be another story, there will always be new information, and a different perspective.  So please, even after you have read these stories, DON'T STOP learning.

thank you so much for your blog. maybe "thank you" sounds silly, but grateful is how i feel. my 8 year old daughter has Asperger's and i try to understand her version of life through reading, talking with professionals, talking with other parents of children with Asperger's, and, most importantly, by observing and talking with my daughter, but reading your blog has been a bit like listening to an older version of her - someone who can better describe the issues she faces every day. thank you.

Yes! That is what I am aiming for! I want parents and caregivers and teachers of those children on the spectrum to listen to what the actual community has to say. It's NOT that professionals and other parents don't know anything worthwhile, it's just that some people on the spectrum have just as much to say. We have been LIVING it. Thank you SO MUCH for reading and for your comment. And don't stop at me! There are MANY other blogs out there by people on the spectrum who can give you other viewpoints. Thanks again!
