Black Friday

Posted by Admin on November 23, 2012 at 6:45 PM

People always tell me that I'm crazy for enjoying Black Friday. But besides getting up early (and maybe being a little cold), they should come with me and see what I experience. I don't go to the stupid stores like Walmart (cheapest department store) or Best Buy (cheapest electronics store) or even the mall. I go to ONE shopping center close to home. Every year I've gone (at least three in a row now) there have been no more than 15 people total waiting in a line outside a store. LAST year, Staples (an electronics store) gave out free coffee and doughnuts! THIS year, no one even WAITED in line for another electronics store, and I was the first (and only) one in when they opened. When I go, I plan ahead. I know what I want, how much I will spend, and what time the store will open. I have had HUGE success in the past 3 years that I have gone. I don't think there was one year that I didn't get what I planned to. And every year I save a LOT. So, while I understand the REGULAR madness is ridiculous (terrible driving, pushing and shoving, waiting in line 24 hours ahead, going at midnight, etc.), the way I personally do Black Friday is actually a really nice experience where I've met some nice people and had a good time.

I wanted to say sorry. I ddin't mean to offend you when I said that we are all normal. What I meant to say was that we "function" just like typical people. But we don't "think" like typical people. I was also trying to confort you by saying that people who think that were "dumb or weird" is pathetic. I think that the advantages of having autism is that our brains can focus on ONE thing for more than 2 hours. I used to think that typical could do that. I am so sorrya nd I will never comment on here if it makes youf feel any better. I didn't mean to hurt you. Now everyone hates me. :( I'm sorry.

Hi,

First off, I really want to say that I am impressed with your blog. I created a website so that I could reach out to the aspergers/autistic community to bond with them. If you could please become a member and follow every daily post, it would be helpful.

Hello, I love reading your blog, and I just tried to subscribe via my RSS feeder, but apparently the feed is not turned on. Any chance you could take care of that so I could subscribe that way?

Cheers,

Thanks for the comment. I'm sorry that you are having these issues with the RSS feed. Unfortunately, I do not know how to work that (or even if I CAN work that...it may be the web host that I'm using...). I appreciate the time you take to read my blog, and I wish I knew how to make it easier for you to do so. If there is anything else I can help you with, let me know.
